  July 2019

Happy July!
Now that I am home I feel that summer has officially started.  I have to say that my trip was a once in a lifetime experience!  Each day was just as amazing as the last! The 3 days of quilting classes, while the reason for the cruise, seemed very minor compared to the sites at each port. It was such a pleasure to meet Liza Pryor Lucy.  She makes most of Kaffe Fassett's quilts for his books.  She has her own book out on an English paper pieced hexagon pattern. We made an EPP hexagon ditty bag.  Gillian Travis from the UK was just delightful to meet.  She uses different apps on her i-pad to create applique quilts from her pictures. We used ink tense pencils to shade our applique fish.  I am very bad at painting! We ate many evening meals together. Of course it is always wonderful to take a class from Sue Spargo!  I feel like I did miniature embroidery doing her house pincushion! We got to go to a very charming quilt shop in a town near Barcelona called Amelia.  The shop owners name was Patricia so I'm not sure where the name came from.  She treated us to a 5 course lunch complete with sangria! My advise to anyone, if you are thinking about whether or not to go on a quilt cruise anywhere in the world, GO!!!! I have no regrets, only great memories and a thousand pictures to wade through!  Happy Quilting, Pam

This is an open time set up for any one dedicated to working on projects taught by Toni.  She teaches her own method of foundation piecing and has available many patterns she has designed.  She also has ongoing classes from  patterns including the "Wrapsody" bag pattern and a Lone Star quilt from Judy Martin's "Singular Stars" book.

Basket of Charms with LaRee
 Thursday July 11th
Mini charms or scraps work perfectly with these sweet baskets from Sweet Jane's Quilting & Design.  Pattern includes 3 sizes of baskets:
small- 6" x 4" x 3 1/2" deep,  medium- 9 1/2" x 6" x 4 1/2" deep and
large- 11" x 6" x 4 1/2" deep
They would make a cute gift filled with treats, organize a sewing space or nursery, or use for decorating.  Pattern $9.00

Jelly Roll Rug
 Tuesday July 23rd
This is such a popular project right now.  I have not seen a rug that wasn't super cute and fun! We all have jelly rolls that we bought with good intentions of using and yet they still sit on the shelf.  It takes one jelly roll and one Katahdin On-A-Roll package by Bosal to make a 30" x 44" rug.
Pattern required- $10.00     Katahdin On-A-Roll- $28.57

I miss having pizza in Italy!
A good reminder that a sale is a good time to stock up on notions!
