June 2025

I was recently quilting a quilt with a mistake in one of the blocks.  I had examined the quilt top several times and didn't find the error (honestly, it is a very busy quilt).  I only found the mistake because of the way I was quilting it.  It would have taken so long to rip out the quilting, rip out the seams, unload the quilt from the frame, and fix my error...so I just left it!  I am certain I will see it every time I look at the quilt, but it is done and whoever receives it will probably love it anyhow.  While I know the meme above is telling us to just rip it out instead of stewing over it (and procrastinating ripping), there are times for just leaving it alone and moving on.  Here's to keeping us humble, and not wasting our precious time un-sewing.
Thank you for keeping us open by shopping with us!

We will be having our annual summer sale June 24th-28th and July 1st-3rd.

We will be offering free face-painting and kids crafts on our boardwalk before the parade on the 4th., so if you are in Seeley stop by!

Please call our store to sign up for classes (406) 677-2730.    You can find more information for each class on our website by clicking on the picture.
We are always happy to schedule one-on-one classes, so please reach out if there is something you'd like to learn.

Soup-r-sew
Thursday, June 12th

Join us for a fun day of sewing and eating lunch with your friends!  Bring any project you want to work on.  Lunch will be served around noon.  Please let us know by Wednesday (the day before) if you will be coming, so that we can be sure to have enough food.
The fee is $5 (preferably cash, as this goes to the maker of the food and not to DCQ).

2nd Tuesday Class - Wanderer's Wife
Tuesday, June 10th

This is just a reminder for those in the class - this class is full.

On Wander Lane BOM
Friday, June 20th
Nancy Halverson designed 12 "On Wander Lane" patterns that can be combined to make this all-season wall hanging.  For each class, you will need to purchase the pattern and either bring your own fabrics or purchase fabrics from our store.  We will start with the "Bunny Knoll" pattern in March, and continue on through the patterns once-a-month for a year.  Each pattern has multiple applique' projects, so you can do more than just this wall hanging.

Beginning Free-motion Quilting
Tues.-Wed., June 17th-18th
Join Teresa in learning how to free-motion quilt on your own sewing machine.  This is a two-day class, and you will be able to leave your sewing machine at our store overnight.  The fee for this class is $20.

Deer Country Quilts is an authorized Janome dealer.  We have machines and accessories for sale, and provide scheduled service for your Janome sewing machine.
